#1 🏆 Best choice
White & Color Ambiance Centris 2-Piece, dimmable, 16 Million Colours, app-controllable, Amazon Alexa Compatible, White - 2er Spot White

Philips Hue

White & Color Ambiance Centris 2-Piece, dimmable, 16 Million Colours, app-controllable, Amazon Alexa Compatible, White - 2er Spot White

  • Clean combo of central panel + 2 adjustable spots, all independently controllable
  • Very good integration with Hue, Alexa, and Zigbee systems; stable and responsive
  • Installation system (mounting rail, half-open housing) is much easier than many ceiling lights
After living with the Philips Hue Centris 2-piece for a bit, my conclusion is pretty simple: it’s a well-built, well-thought-out smart ceiling light that fits perfectly into a Hue setup, but the price and the brightness mean it’s not for everyone. The mix of a central panel and two adjustable spots is genuinely practical. Being able to control each part independently in the app and in scenes changes how you use the room’s lighting. For me, it replaced a boring single ceiling fixture with something much more flexible without filling the ceiling with multiple lamps. The hardware feels solid, the installation system is one of the nicest I’ve seen for a ceiling light, and the integration with Hue, Alexa, and even Zigbee systems like Home Assistant is basically flawless. On the other hand, you really need to check if the light output is enough for your room and be honest about whether you’ll actually use the smart features. If you just want bright light at the lowest price, this is the wrong product. If you’re already deep into Hue or planning a more advanced smart home, and you like the idea of clean, zoned lighting from a single fixture, then it’s a pretty solid choice despite the cost.

White & Color Ambiance Centris 4-Light, dimmable, 16 Million Colours, app-controllable, Amazon Alexa Compatible, White - New 4 Luces White

Philips Hue

White & Color Ambiance Centris 4-Light, dimmable, 16 Million Colours, app-controllable, Amazon Alexa Compatible, White - New 4 Luces White

  • Very bright (around 4000 lumens) and easily lights a 10–12 m² room on its own
  • Flexible lighting with central panel plus four adjustable spots for both task and ambient light
  • Integrates well with Hue ecosystem, app scenes, and Alexa voice control when used with a Hue Bridge
After living with the Philips Hue Centris 4-Light for a while, my feeling is that it’s a solid smart ceiling light mainly aimed at people who are already into the Hue ecosystem. It’s bright enough to handle a small to medium room on its own, the combination of central panel and adjustable spots is genuinely practical, and the app/voice control works well once you’ve set up your scenes. For everyday white lighting, it does a very good job, and the ability to tweak colour temperature and brightness for different moments of the day is genuinely useful, not just a gimmick. On the flip side, the product is expensive, the build is mostly plastic and doesn’t feel premium for the price, and the colours are clearly less intense than what the glossy Philips photos suggest. You also really need a Hue Bridge to get the most out of it; otherwise, managing multiple light points becomes annoying. If you’re already using Hue bulbs and like playing with scenes and automation, this fixture will fit nicely and simplify your ceiling setup. If you just want a normal ceiling light with some colour here and there, you can get similar practical results for much less money with other brands or a DIY combination. So: good product, not perfect, and definitely not cheap. It makes sense for Hue enthusiasts who want a clean, all-in-one smart light in a key room. If you’re price-sensitive or not tied to Hue, I’d look at cheaper smart ceiling lights or separate spots plus bulbs instead.

White & Color Ambiance Centris 4-Light, dimmable, 16 Million Colours, app-controllable, Amazon Alexa Compatible, Black - Neue Generation 4er Spot Black

Philips Hue

White & Color Ambiance Centris 4-Light, dimmable, 16 Million Colours, app-controllable, Amazon Alexa Compatible, Black - Neue Generation 4er Spot Black

  • Very bright (up to 4000 lm) and easily lights a medium-sized room
  • Flexible setup with one bar light plus four adjustable spots, each controllable individually
  • Smooth integration with Hue ecosystem and Alexa, reliable app and voice control
After living with the Philips Hue Centris 4-Light for a couple of weeks, my takeaway is pretty clear: it’s a strong, flexible ceiling light for people who are already into Hue, but it’s not some magic object that justifies its price for everyone. It lights a medium-sized room easily, offers a good mix of direct and indirect light, and the individual control of the bar plus four spots is genuinely useful. White tones are great, dimming is smooth, and integration with the Hue app and Alexa works without drama. On the flip side, the marketing photos oversell the color intensity; in real life, colors are decent but not super vibrant, and if you buy it only for the RGB effect, you’ll probably feel a bit let down. The fixture is heavy and not trivial to mount alone, and if you don’t have a Hue Bridge, daily control quickly becomes annoying because you’re basically managing five lights instead of one. Add the high price on top, and it’s hard to call it good value for someone who just wants a simple main light. If you already own a Hue Bridge, like playing with scenes, and want your main ceiling light to be part of the smart setup, this Centris is a solid choice and will probably make you happy. If you’re new to smart lighting or on a budget, I’d skip it and start with a cheaper fixture plus a couple of smart bulbs; you’ll get 70% of the functionality for a lot less money.

White & Color Ambiance Centris 2-Piece, dimmable, 16 Million Colours, app-controllable, Amazon Alexa Compatible, Black New generation 2er Spot Black

‎Philips Hue

White & Color Ambiance Centris 2-Piece, dimmable, 16 Million Colours, app-controllable, Amazon Alexa Compatible, Black New generation 2er Spot Black

  • Strong overall light output for small to medium rooms, with good adjustable white tones
  • Three independently controllable light sources (panel + 2 spots) in one ceiling fixture
  • Solid build quality and smooth integration with Hue app, Bridge and Alexa
The Philips Hue White & Color Ambiance Centris 2-Piece in black is a well-built, practical smart ceiling light that fits nicely in small to medium rooms. The combination of one central panel and two adjustable GU10 spots gives you flexible lighting: general light from the panel, plus targeted or coloured light from the spots. White light quality is good, dimming is smooth, and the whole thing responds quickly to the app and voice commands. It feels solid on the ceiling and doesn’t look cheap.Where it falls short is mostly around expectations and price. The colours are fine but less intense than the marketing photos suggest, which one Amazon reviewer rightly pointed out. Also, without a Hue Bridge, you’re stuck with basic Bluetooth control; it works, but you don’t really unlock the full potential. For the price, it’s hard to recommend if you’re not already into the Hue ecosystem. A simple fixture plus a few standard bulbs will light your room just as well for a lot less money, just without the smart tricks. If you already own a Hue Bridge, use the app or Alexa regularly, and want a clean, modern ceiling light that combines direct and indirect light in one unit, this Centris is a solid but expensive option. If you’re just curious about smart lighting or mainly care about colours, I’d start with cheaper Hue bulbs or another brand’s smart ceiling light. In short: good product, reliable and pleasant to use, but the price and slightly oversold colours mean it’s best for committed Hue users, not casual buyers.
